Rich Baumann has been in to metal and finish since his early years on the family farm in Illinois. His first job outside the farm, at the age of 15, was in an automotive restoration shop west of Chicago. He moved to Montana at age 20 and within a couple of years had opened his own restoration business, then about eight years later began venturing into the more artistic side of working with metal and patinas. He co founded a metal art manufacturing business in 1990, then in 2001, began creating what is now Big Sky Metal Art.
